Special finds & the Collection log

Every gathering and crafting skill can turn up something rare while you train it: amber from an old tree, a ship's figurehead on a harpoon line, a salamander from the flames. Each find is recorded in your Collection log the moment it appears. The log is the second page of the Quests tab on the side panel.

Curios

Rolled on successful gathers and crafts, gated by the tier of the node or recipe, not by your gear. Most are salvage: bring them to Bodkin at ElderHeart and he restores them into house pieces nothing else can buy.

Geodes

Mining's lockboxes. Rock veins sometimes drop a Rough geode (any vein) or a Glimmering geode (Mining tier 30 veins and up). Crack one with any hammer, anywhere: it pays Mining XP, spills ore or coins, and sometimes holds one of the three crystals.

Collect all three and Bodkin will build the Crystal gallery.

Whittling

A Whittling knife from Mabel's General Store and any logs let you train Woodcutting anywhere. Each log becomes a small figurine from that wood's set. A figurine fills a log page and can be traded, and Bodkin will mount it in your house as a miniature for a few coins.

Messages in bottles

Any water can fish one up. Uncork it for a note worth reading once, 30 to 500 coins, and the log page the first time.

Seeds

Farm seeds drop from skilling at set tiers, and the log keeps a page for each kind the first time one turns up. What to sow and where is in Homes & Farming.

The crowning tools

Each non-combat skill also has a masterwork tool at level 85, sold by Gilda Truesteel in Coronmar. Equipment lists all six.
