Welcome to Ancient Warden. The game, this website, and all related services are operated by WZC Development LLC. These terms form a legally binding agreement between you and us. By creating an account, playing as a guest, or accessing the site, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to all of these terms, please do not use the game or the site.

1. Eligibility to Play

You must be at least 13 years old to play Ancient Warden or create an account. If you are under 13, you may not use the game or the site under any circumstances, even with permission from a parent or guardian.

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction) to make any purchases. If you are between 13 and 17, you are welcome to play the free aspects of the game, but you may not make purchases. By making a purchase, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.

2. Account Registration and Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. Any activity conducted through your account is your sole responsibility. If you suspect unauthorized access to your account, you must change your password immediately and contact our support team.

Guest play is offered as a convenience. Guest progress is stored locally in your browser cache. If your browser clears its data, your guest characters will be permanently lost. Creating a free registered account is the only reliable way to secure your progress, and we cannot recover lost guest data.

Display names must not impersonate other individuals, our staff, or contain offensive, hateful, defamatory, or misleading language. We reserve the right to forcibly change or remove display names that violate this policy at our sole discretion.

3. Code of Conduct and Fair Play

Ancient Warden is designed to be a fair and enjoyable environment for everyone. By using the game or the site, you strictly agree not to:

If you discover a bug or vulnerability, we encourage you to report it to us safely. Exploiting a bug for personal gain or sharing it publicly is a violation of these terms.

4. User-Generated Content and Communications

Ancient Warden includes features such as in-game text chat and player-owned housing that allow you to create and share content. You retain ownership of any original content you create, but by submitting it to the game, you grant WZC Development LLC a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to host, display, and distribute that content within the context of operating the game.

We do not proactively monitor all user-generated content, but we reserve the right to review, moderate, mute, or permanently delete any content or communications that violate our Code of Conduct or compromise our user safety systems.

5. Purchases and Virtual Goods

All purchases require you to be 18 or older. Purchases are for a limited, non-transferable, revocable license to access digital goods and services inside the game. Except as explicitly outlined in our Refund Policy, and unless mandated by local consumer protection laws, all sales are final. Digital goods have no real-world monetary value, cannot be cashed out, and are not your personal property.

Payment Processing: Payments are processed securely by Stripe on behalf of WZC Development LLC, which will appear on your statement. Card details are entered directly through Stripe's secure portal; our servers never see, collect, or store your financial information. All subscription management occurs through the Stripe billing portal accessed via your account page.

Rules Apply to All: Purchasing a realm, Keeper, or any other premium item does not exempt you from the rules. Paid accounts can be muted, suspended, or permanently banned for violations exactly like free accounts, without prior warning or compensation.

Refunds: Conditions for refunds are detailed in our Refund Policy. We strictly do not issue refunds for accounts that are banned, muted, or otherwise under disciplinary moderation.

Subscriptions and Realm Hosting: Realm subscriptions are billed monthly. You may cancel at any time via the billing portal, and your realm will remain active until the end of the paid billing cycle. If a payment fails, your realm enters a grace period (currently 3 days) with in-game and email notifications. Afterward, it is suspended and held in a retention window (currently 30 days) before being permanently archived and the subscription terminated. Reinstatement occurs automatically upon successful payment within the retention window. If a banned account has active subscriptions, they are canceled immediately; however, lifting a ban does not restore canceled subscriptions.

6. Intellectual Property

The game, its underlying technology, world lore, artwork, names, music, and code are the exclusive property of WZC Development LLC and are protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to play the game for your own entertainment. While we encourage you to share screenshots, videos, and streams of your gameplay, you may not copy, modify, distribute, or sell the game software itself.

7. Termination and Account Suspension

You may stop playing and request account deletion at any time. We reserve the right to suspend, terminate, or restrict your access to the game and your account at any time, for any reason, including violations of these Terms, with or without notice. Ancient Warden is a live service in active development; we reserve the right to modify, pause, or discontinue parts of the game entirely as it evolves.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

ANCIENT WARDEN IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WZC DEVELOPMENT LLC DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE GAME WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, BUG-FREE, SECURE, OR THAT ANY PROGRESS OR DATA WILL BE PRESERVED INDEFINITELY.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL WZC DEVELOPMENT LLC BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST PROGRESS, LOST DATA, OR LOST ENJOYMENT ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE GAME. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless WZC Development LLC and its officers, directors, and employees from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising out of your use of the game, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms and any disputes arising out of or related to them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any legal action or proceeding shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Texas, and you consent to the jurisdiction of such courts.

12. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful, void, or unenforceable, that provision shall be deemed severable and will not affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms periodically to reflect changes in the game or legal requirements. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent revision. For material changes, we will make a reasonable effort to notify players (e.g., via email or in-game notice). Your continued use of the game after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
