Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2, 2026
Ancient Warden and its associated website are operated by WZC Development LLC. We built this game to provide an engaging experience, not to harvest or monetize your personal information. This Privacy Policy outlines, in clear terms, the data we collect, our legal basis for doing so, how it is utilized, and your rights regarding that data.
1. Core Principles
- Data Minimization: We collect only the essential data required to operate the game, maintain security, and process transactions.
- No Data Sales: We have never sold, and will never sell, your personal information to third parties.
- No Advertising Trackers: We do not serve targeted advertisements or use third-party marketing trackers.
- Age Restrictions: You must be at least 13 to play and at least 18 to make any purchases.
- Your Rights: You maintain the right to access, modify, or permanently delete your account and its associated data at any time.
2. Information We Collect
Account Credentials: Upon registration, we collect an email address, a display name, and a password. Your password is irreversibly hashed and salted; it is never stored in plain text and cannot be read by our team.
Gameplay Data: To provide a seamless experience across devices, we continuously save your game progress, including character stats, inventory, quest states, settings, and social lists to our cloud databases.
Guest Play Data: Guest accounts function without an email address. Progress is linked to local browser storage and temporary database entries. Prolonged inactivity on a guest account will result in automated deletion of this data.
Technical & Diagnostic Data: When you connect to our servers, we automatically record essential technical information, including your IP address, browser type, and operating system. If you encounter errors, our systems may collect diagnostic bug reporting payloads to help us identify and patch issues.
Site Measurement: We count how often our own pages are opened, and how often the blocks that advertise Keeper and realms are seen and clicked. These are aggregate counters only: each records that something happened on a given day, on a given part of the site, a given number of times. No identifier of any kind is attached to them, no cookie or browser storage is used, and no record of an individual visit exists, which means we cannot and do not build visitor profiles, count unique visitors, or trace any of these numbers back to a person or an account. The measurement is entirely first-party, performed by our own servers, and shared with nobody. If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, nothing at all is counted for your visit.
Chat & Communications: In-game text chat is actively relayed to other players in your immediate session. While we do not retain permanent, readable logs of all casual chat history, messages are processed through our custom, database-driven user safety systems in real-time to detect, filter, and mitigate harassment, abuse, or violations of our Terms of Service.
Mailing List (optional): If you choose to join our mailing list, we store the email address you submit, together with timestamps of when you subscribed, confirmed, and (if applicable) unsubscribed. Joining is strictly double opt-in: we send one confirmation email, and you are only added when you click the link in it. Every email we send you carries a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately. After you unsubscribe we retain your address solely as a suppression record so it cannot be re-added without your fresh consent; email us (Section 11) if you would like it erased entirely. Mailing-list addresses are used for occasional news about Ancient Warden and for nothing else: they are never sold, never shared beyond the delivery provider below, and never linked to gameplay or analytics data. Delivery is performed by our email provider, Mailgun, acting as a data processor under their own Privacy Policy.
3. Information We Do Not Collect
We do not request or process sensitive personal information, such as your real legal name (unless provided for payment processing), physical address, phone number, or date of birth. We do not use cross-site tracking cookies, and the site measurement described above uses no cookies, no browser storage and no identifiers of any kind. Because we do not sell data, we natively comply with the core requirements of privacy frameworks like the CCPA regarding the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information.
4. Payment Processing
All financial transactions are securely processed by our authorized third-party payment gateway, Stripe. Charges will appear on your financial statements under WZC Development LLC.
Stripe's Data Collection: When you initiate a purchase, you provide your billing information directly to Stripe via their secure checkout interface. Stripe processes this data in accordance with their own Privacy Policy.
Our Financial Records: WZC Development LLC never receives, processes, or stores your full credit card number, expiration date, or CVV code. We strictly retain limited billing records provided by Stripe (such as transaction IDs, purchase dates, and item entitlements) solely to grant your account the purchased digital goods and manage active subscriptions.
5. How We Use Your Information
We process your data under the legal basis of fulfilling our contractual obligations to you and for our legitimate business interests, specifically:
- To authenticate your identity, secure your account, and load your saved progress.
- To operate core gameplay features, including multiplayer synchronization and social systems.
- To enforce our Terms of Service, maintain server stability, and utilize automated safety systems to prevent cheating, unauthorized botting, and toxic behavior.
- To deliver critical administrative notices, such as password reset links or billing issue alerts.
6. Data Sharing and Disclosure
Public Profile: Other players can view your display name, character names, and in-game actions/communications during multiplayer sessions. Your email address remains strictly confidential.
Service Providers: We utilize a select group of trusted third-party service providers for cloud hosting and server infrastructure. These entities act strictly as data processors under binding agreements and are prohibited from utilizing your data for their own independent purposes.
Legal Compliance: We will only disclose your personal information to outside authorities if we are legally compelled to do so by a valid subpoena, court order, or similar binding legal process.
7. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
Ancient Warden is not directed at children under the age of 13. We strictly adhere to the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not knowingly collect, solicit, or retain personal information from anyone under 13. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected data from a child under 13, we will take immediate steps to permanently delete that account and its associated data.
8. Data Security
We implement robust, industry-standard technical and organizational measures to safeguard your data against unauthorized access, loss, or alteration. Connections between your browser and our servers are encrypted, and internal access to player databases is strictly limited to necessary development staff. However, no internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.
9. Your Data Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you hold specific rights regarding your personal data:
- Right to Access & Rectification: You may review and update your core account details directly via your account management page.
- Right to Erasure (Right to be Forgotten): You may delete individual characters in-game, or request the complete and permanent deletion of your account and all associated personal data.
- Right to Information: You may contact us at any time to request a summary of the personal data we hold about you.
10. Changes to This Policy
As Ancient Warden evolves, we may update this Privacy Policy. The "Last updated" timestamp will reflect the most recent revision. For any material changes that significantly affect your rights, we will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice (e.g., via email or an in-game announcement).
11. Contact Us
For any questions, concerns, or requests to exercise your data rights, please contact WZC Development LLC via email at [email protected].
