Thornback beetle
The thornback beetle is a level 21 beetle found in Eastwood. It attacks on sight. It fights hand to hand, so spells have the edge on it and a bow is at a disadvantage.
Fighting it
It hits up to 6 and has 36 hitpoints. It notices you from about 5 tiles away, and it stops bothering you once your combat level is more than double its own. A kill is worth 160 XP, split across the combat skills you used.
